Everything happens in the kitchen. Life happens in the kitchen.

Kitchen Space

The kitchen is an essential segment of any home.

In most of the space effective apartments, the kitchen occupies only a portion with one or two counters for the oven and the dishwasher, washing machine area. This effective space technique often leaves the kitchen congested with multiple large kitchen appliances and accessories.

If you want your kitchen to run smoothly, you will need to plan each compartment efficiently. From the layout to the placement of appliances should help you overcome the struggles of working in a confined space. Below we are going to share some tips on how to make the most of your kitchen small space.

Kitchen Design

A definite kitchen design will have many kitchen cabinets as an effort for the usability of the maximum space. However, these cabinets become a representation of the messiest arrangements within the week and drawers mostly help you compart the cutlery and crockery. Cabinets can be modified further by adding shelves. Adding shelves will give more organised areas for spices, cups, and other utensils.

If you prefer an open area and a different look other than traditional, you can add plain shelves to the wall instead of cabinets. It will give you free space and liberty to place things anywhere. However, this design requires you to keep the shelves organised and neat all the time to avoid an unpleasant sight. You can also add open shelves to the upper part of the cabinets and place boxes filled with things you usually don’t use.

Hanger, clips, and magnets can be put to great use for the utensils. You can find these wall spread hangers on which you can hand cups, utensils, spatulas, mittens, and much more. The benefit of removable wall hangers is you can utilise walls without spending on making new cabinets. If you don’t want to hang these insights, you can install a rack inside the cabinet to organise pans and utensils and add vertical paper holders to store garbage bags, plastics, and aluminium foils and even cleaner bottles. Another cheap DIY is to install towel hangers at the side or free space to hand your pans.

If you don’t want to hang your utensils and knives, the suggestion is to go for stainless holders. Some of the knife holders also come with a sharpener like Chef Knife Set with Knife Sharpener.

Creating space is not the only part of the plan but also the size of your utensils and appliances. Sometimes bigger is not better, but less is more.

When you buy a set of pans, you can get multiple sizes with a difference of a few inches which is somehow entirely useless. While you shop for pots & pans, get a few with sufficient size difference between them that will take less space. Also, you can find smart size appliances for multiple purposes.

To create the best aesthetically dressed kitchen, try and match your appliances to the theme of your kitchen with matching colours, or colours that provide a striking affect.
